Flood Restoration

Whether it is a natural disaster, burst pipe or even a slow leak there are steps that you can take to help rectify the situation:

Close your main water valve – If flooding is the result of a burst pipe, closing the valve will eliminate the source and minimise further damage.

Shut the electrical breaker – Before unplugging or removing electrical devices from water damaged areas, shut off the electrical circuit to prevent electrocuting yourself.

Call Intensive Carpet Clean – Call us on (03) 544 5168 or (021) 955 168 and request immediate help so that we can provide water damage cleanup, mitigation, and restoration services, and help prevent further issues, did you know we can even arrange the plumber!

Call your insurance company – It is vital to report any losses or damages as soon as possible.  We are happy to work alongside your insurance  assessor and can be the point of contact with them working on your behalf.

Quick action following a leak can significantly reduce the amount of water damage your house sustain.

There are 3 categories of water damage.  Intensive Carpet Clean have the expertise and equipment to deal with each one.

Category 1 – This is clean water damage from broken water taps, burst clean water pipes, and leaking sinks,  Category 1 water damage involves uncontaminated water that does not pose significant health risks.  But if left untreated it can cost more money and take far longer to  rectify

Category 2 – These damages involve gray water with small amounts of contamination. They can result from cracked sewer lines or water supply pipes, leaking roofs, overflowing toilets, dishwater discharge, and more.

Category 3 – The most dangerous form of water damage.  Category 3 is  black water contamination.  Black water is polluted, and can cause significant health problems.  Do not attempt to clean this on your own, as you will be exposed to harmful bacteria and  potentially dangerous chemicals.  Call us Intensive Carpet Clean immediately.

If you suspect a leak.

If you have had a slow leak over time this will still cause water damage.  With a slow leak water damage may be worse behind walls and floors. If left untreated it can cause permanent damage and could create mould growth leading to potential health issues.

We use professional equipment such as moisture and humidity metres to read levels inside walls, ceilings, and flooring. Using the readings we then can decide what is needed to remedy the situation.

Call us if you are suspicious of a slow water leak and we will be happy to come and take a look.
